Compile a Song
Since this program contains a lot of steps to compile, this has been placed in its own webpage. Please click here to learn how to compile a song!
PAK Tools
Extracting

To extract a PAK file, simply place the pak file path into the text box and click extract. If you don’t want the program to convert the qb files to a readable .q file, simply click the checkbox in the bottom left.
You can also place a folder here instead and it’ll look for all pak files within the folder and extract them all using the parameters set when extracting.
Compiling

Compiling allows you to repack a pak file to be read by the game. Place a folder containing an extracted PAK file in the text field. Unlike extracting, you can only create one pak file at a time.
The Save Location will automatically be the same folder the extracted folder is found in. At a future time, I will let you choose a save location, but it is not yet implemented.
The “Set Asset Context” checkbox will enable the text box below it. It will allow you to set an “Asset Context” for the pak file. This isn’t used in a majority of cases, but can be found with zone pak files or character paks.
Your console is the most important choice since each console’s pak file structure varies. Make sure you choose the correct one or else your game may freeze!
The “Split PAB” option will split the header table and actual data. If the original pak file that was extracted was a split file, you’ll need to make the re-compiled pak file a split pak as well. If the folder name is just “qb”, the program will always split it up unless you are compiling for Wii as that console does not use split pak files.
The game you choose is also important as the structure of recompiled qb files are different depending on the game. If you select a wrong game, your file will not work!
After setting all your parameters, click on “Compile to compile your PAK file.
PS2 Archive Tools (WAD Manipulation)
The PS2 file structure is unique in that all game files (that aren’t music) are compiled into an archive called WAD:

This tool will allow you to extract and re-compile the WAD file so you can modify the PS2 version’s game contents!
Extracting

Extracting is very basic. Simply place the WAD filepath in the text box and click on extract. A new folder will be created with the extracted contents of the WAD file:

It’s highly recommended to back up your original HED, WAD, and 2 HDP files right now. This is so you can more easily start over if something happens.
Compiling

After editing files in the extracted WAD file, you can use the compile tab to re-compile your 4 archive files.
Once finished, there will be a new folder called “WAD Compile”:

Overwrite your original WAD files with the 4 files found inside this new folder.
Remake your disc and enjoy yours edits!
